It's amazing when you meet a big dog that the first thing that strikes you about them, aside from their size, is how gentle they often are. It's like they are aware of their size in comparison to all around them which is where the expression "gentle giant" seems to come from. Sammy was no exception, maybe her age contributed to her gentleness some, you can't help but appreciate how wonderful their company is when they just seem to go out of their way to make sure they don't cause any harm.
