2020 has been a strange and challenging year, you’ll notice that we do not have as many dog events as we did the year before but 2021 looks it’s going to see us returning to more activity, and that means more portraits to show you, and that gets us excited.

Our first event of 2021 brings us back together with one of our favourite organisations Pound Paws, the event was held on a sweltering Australia Day at the Henson in Marrickville. The order of the day was to keep things simple as we had planned to be moving around during the day, but as it turned out the location proved to be pretty hot and we ended up using a shady corner so that we wouldn’t stress the dogs too much, as it turned out we shot next the dog pool that were set up for the day so that meant that the pooches could cool off straight after their shoot.

Most of the dogs that we photographed that day came to the main location but there was a mercifully short dog race in nearby Henson Park, it was really more of an informal fun run than a race, lasting only all of 10 seconds, that’s how long it took the dogs to follow the sound of the owners voice from all the other owners standing at the finish line. This was where we managed to photograph our last dog for the day before deciding that we needed to get out of the heat for the rest of the afternoon.
